School Security & Visitor Check In/ Check Out Procedures

Parents and Families should check in at the office when visiting the school. For security, all outside doors (except the main doors) are locked during student-attendance hours, and inside halls have no access to visitors except through the office. We welcome volunteers and ask you to sign in on our volunteer log if you are visiting our Family Center, classrooms, or other areas of the school. All visitors are asked to wear an identification badge.

Students keep their cellphones off, in their backpacks, during the school day. Other electronic devices are not used at school except under a teacher’s instruction. Devices brought to school may be confiscated if they are distracting in any way to the learning environment. The school takes no liability for lost or stolen devices. Toys are not allowed at school.

Parents, if you need to contact a child, please call the office number 385-646-4792. Students have access to the school phone when they need to contact you. Please keep all contact information up-to-date for emergency purposes.

Check the calendar for early-release days and non-attendance days.

Please have Copper Hills siblings arrange to meet in a designated spot after school.

Junior-high and high-school students are not allowed on the school grounds when students are present without a parent’s request to the office and a badge. When teens are picking up students after school, please have them meet just off the grounds when possible.

Former students often want to visit the school to see teachers and staff, but teachers should not be interrupted during their contract hours before, during, or after school (including Fridays and other planning days). Students who do not attend Copper Hills may not be on the school grounds or enter the school to get drinks, use restrooms, or visit. These students could be charged with trespassing.

Teachers and school staff should wear District identification at all times. District maintenance and personnel must wear ID badges and check in at the office.
