Principal’s Notes
To be happy is synonymous with being grateful. November is a wonderful month for our families to reflect on what we are grateful for each day. As I contemplate the things which I am thankful for, I feel much more lighthearted, and am reminded of what wonderful colleagues, friends, and family I have as well as the beautiful state we all live in. I am especially thankful for the opportunity to be the principal of Crestview and am developing wonderful associations with the staff, students, and parents. I always appreciate the relationships and kind words which are a part of our Crestview community. You are all wonderful people and I gain so much from each of you. Parents, you have amazing children and I appreciate all you do for them and the school! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends and enjoy every moment together.

Hello Crestview Cougars! We are doing amazing things this year and all engines are firing! The Community Council met last Wednesday and are ready to make a difference! You may see the minutes on our school website as well as the meeting dates. Please join us for robust discussions about our school and community.
Our PTA is tremendous and gives a wealth of support in a variety of ways to the school. Our PTA president, Lauen Anderson, just received an award from Holladay City for her service to the community, particularly to Crestview. Congratulations Lauren, we are so proud!

These funds are used for student supplies, field trips, assemblies, rewards, and smaller technology needs. We appreciate your support!

Welcome Back!
We are excited to start a new year at Crestview with all our students and give a special welcome to our new Spring Lane students! Our teachers are fantastic and have worked diligently to ensure students have a successful school year. Teachers have spent many extra hours on behalf of our students to keep them safe and to prepare them for their future in education. I really appreciate their professionalism and dedication towards education.
New Principal: Teri Daynes
I am so thrilled to be back at Crestview, I screamed with excitement when I received the news! I began teaching at Crestview when I was a cute 29-year-old and stayed for 20 years. My children attended Crestview as well and the school certainly has a soft spot in my heart.  For the past several years I was the principal at Fox Hills Elementary and learned many valuable lessons from the community and built many strong relationships. . I’ve also taught in Colorado and Arkansas and have had many great experiences in education. I look forward to working with all of you and making a lasting impression on your child’s education and experience at Crestview.
Personal Life: I am married to Richard Daynes who is an attorney. We have 5 beautiful children and 7 grandchildren. We enjoy being together as a family and taking vacations. We have had some crazy experiences on our life’s journey such as Richard working at the US Embassy in China when Covid broke out. All educators and families endured that challenge, and we are happy to be back into our regular routines.
We have loved raising our children in Cottonwood Heights and it is a joy for me to watch and help this new generation of families and students grow at Crestview!
