August and the new school year may seem like a long time away but it’ll be here before we know it. While Rosecrest is hopeful that the students will be able to return in May, if it’s not possible then we will just be that much more excited to see the kids in August.
We have planned our faculty for the 2020-2021 school year and want to share this information with our community and parents. Our teachers will be creating class lists during the month of May. The class assignments will be made with the goal of balancing each class. This means that we do not have a “high” or “low” academic class. If parents believe that their child has a unique need with regards to teacher and class placement they will need to complete a Patron Concern Form and email it to koanderson (at) graniteschools.org. All Patron Concerns Forms must be submitted by April 20, 2020 in order to be considered for next year. We are not able to accept requests for social or friendship issues. Rosecrest will consider all requests but is unable to grant all requests. Class lists will be posted during the summer Registration Day in early August (date TBD).
Just like in previous years, Rosecrest students in grades 3-6 will rotate from teacher to teacher. We find this to be an effective instructional strategy as it allows teachers to specialize in certain subject areas and allows students variety throughout the school day. So for example, if a parent believes that their child would benefit from having Mrs. So & So in the 3rd grade there is no need to request that teacher because all 3rd graders will spend half of their day with each 3rd grade teacher.

A note from Mr. Anderson: It is with a heavy heart and a tear in my eye that I prepare to leave Rosecrest. This is a special school full of special kids, special parents, special teachers, and a special staff. I have truly been lucky to work with the Rosecrest community for the last four years. These four years have been the absolute best years of my career. It doesn’t get any better than ROSECREST. I really hope the students can come back to school in May for their own learning and to give me a chance to say goodbye. If not, I will always have fond memories of the best kids in the world.
I commit here in writing to continue to give my full effort and energy to Rosecrest until my last day as Principal. I am confident that when the new principal takes over in July she will do a fantastic job. She will take Rosecrest even higher than it’s ever been.
