Dual Immersion programs create students who are bilingual and bicultural. By the end of elementary, they can read, write, speak and listen in both English and Spanish. By the end of high school, they will compete for educational opportunities and jobs both at home and abroad. Dual Immersion students graduate feeling confidently prepared to live and work fluently in both languages.

The Utah Model – Dual Immersion at Our School
- Students enroll in 1st or 2nd grade with a plan of staying in the program for their entire time at our school.
- Students learn half of the day in Spanish with a Spanish teacher and half of the day in English with an English Teacher.
- Grades 1-3 learn math in Spanish and grades 4-6 learn science in Spanish.
- All grades learn English and Spanish reading and writing.
- Over 15 years of successful DLI programs in Utah with over 50,000 students!

- Can my child handle learning a new language?
- Yes! Young children are the best language learners and often learn without realizing it is supposed to be hard.
- How will I help my child with homework?
- When homework is given in Spanish, it is designed to be done without parent help. Struggle is a normal part of learning and should be supported and encouraged.
- Can I talk to my child’s Spanish teacher if I need to?
- Our DLI teachers are bilingual and are available to talk to all parents.
- My child already knows Spanish. Will DLI benefit him?
- DLI teaches kids to be academically proficient in two languages. Native speakers and non-speakers both improve in our program.
