Dear Patrons – please read this message in its entirety and review the infographic prior to posting any comments.
We are pleased to provide you with some initial steps on how the new school year will be conducted in light of the current pandemic.
First and foremost, it is anticipated that Granite School District will be providing both distance learning and in-school instruction five days a week. As you can see from the attached infographic, parents will be able to request distance learning to their local school when registration opens in the next few weeks.
Because the situation is fluid, and is expected to change, we are prepared to adjust to a modified, part-time schedule in conjunction with health department guidance on a school by school basis, or district wide, as appropriate.
Our framework allows for families to transition seamlessly from in-person instruction to distance learning, or vice-versa as desired or as necessary due to quarantine or other circumstances.
Our Board was considering a mandate for face coverings for all employees, staff and students. However, earlier this afternoon, the state mandated face coverings for all students. The District is prepared to provide all students with face coverings.
We need your help. Students who demonstrate symptoms of any illness should remain at home. This will ensure that our teachers and fellow students remain safe.
Please review the attached infographic. School specific plans and additional details are forthcoming. We appreciate your patience.
