Dear Arcadia Elementary Community,
I hope this message finds you well. I want to take a moment to address a concern that has surfaced during our daily pick-up times. Recently, we have experienced a few situations in which individuals have not conducted themselves in a respectful or appropriate manner.
To help support a calm and safe environment, we will have members of the Granite Police Department present periodically throughout next week during pick-up. The majority of our families do a tremendous job—truly—but a few situations have made it important for us to take this additional step to ensure safety and respect for everyone.
We fully recognize that our parking lot can be challenging at times. Traffic, tight schedules, and long lines can certainly cause frustration. However, how we choose to interact with one another matters deeply. Our students are watching us, learning from us, and modeling the behaviors they see. This is our moment to show them what it looks like to handle stress with patience, respect, and kindness.
Let’s extend grace to one another. A kind word, a patient gesture, or simply taking a breath can go so much further than abrupt or abrasive reactions. We will always get more with kindness than with anger.
Thank you for your continued partnership in creating a safe and supportive community. Together, we can ensure that Arcadia remains a place where our children not only learn well, but also see the very best examples of how to treat others.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
Mr. Moore
Principal, Arcadia Elementary
