04/30/2026School News

Dear Arcadia Families,

As we begin preparing for the upcoming school year, I want to share some important information about our class placement process.

At Arcadia, we are committed to creating balanced, supportive classroom environments where all students can thrive. To do this, our team works collaboratively using a variety of information, including academic data, behavioral considerations, and individual student needs, to thoughtfully and equitably divide classes.

I understand that in recent years, families have been able to request specific teachers. I have taken time to review our practices and work with our team to ensure we are making the best decisions for all students. Moving forward, we will not be taking teacher or friend requests for the upcoming school year.

While I know this may be disappointing for some, allowing requests for some families would require us to extend that opportunity to all families—and it is not feasible to meet every request. Additionally, there are important factors that families may not be aware of, such as student group dynamics or situations where certain students need to be placed separately to best support their success. For this reason, it is essential that our team is able to finalize class lists internally with a full understanding of each child and the overall school community.

Sharing information about your child

While we are unable to accommodate specific teacher or friend requests, we do value your insight. If there is important information about your child’s learning needs or circumstances that you feel the school should consider, you are welcome to complete the survey below.

Please submit responses by May 15th.

Classroom placements will be shared with families in August.

Sincerely,

Mr. Moore
