Dear Calvin Smith Parents,
We hope everyone is safe after the earthquake in our state this morning. With the state guidance to stay home and not travel today, we have temporarily shifted the start of our digital learning until tomorrow, Thursday, March 19th. Just know that we are aware that we have gotten off to a slow start, and that due dates and timelines will have to shift. Please just work through the work in order that it has been provided. Do not too much pressure on you sweet kiddos.
We will also be serving breakfast and lunch during the normal hours (8-8:40 am for breakfast, 11:30am-1pm for lunch). We are NOT planning on providing meal service on Friday this week or Monday next week due to our previously scheduled Spring Break. Meal service will resume starting next Tuesday March 24th.
If you need access to a Chromebook and print materials, those will be available for distribution on Thursday. We are going to try this again. Thank you to everyone who were patient today. I appreciate you standing in the rain just to get turned away. It is a huge undertaking and we are excited to try again tomorrow. Hopefully we learned a bit from today and will be able to get it done a bit faster.
Please arrive at these times based on the 1st letter of your last
name:

We have provided some how-to videos for logging in and using some of the websites. You can find these on our school website at https://schools.graniteschools.org/calvinsmith/distance-learning-supports/ (At this point the uploading and processing is taking some time, so like everything else this will take a bit of patience.
Also, please remember that the teachers will be on Spring Break on Friday and Monday. It is my expectation that they will not respond to emails or messages for the 4 day break. They need a little break right now as well. Our brains are exhausted from our constant state of being problem-solvers and building a plan in the air. It has been a fun and interesting journey.

We will continue to communicate any additional information over the coming days.
We appreciate the help and support of our great families to provide instructional support for your children as we work as a community to stop the spread of disease.
