Calvin Smith Elementary is located in the south central area of Granite School District. It was built in 1979 to serve the growing population of the Bennion area. Calvin Smith is mainly a walking school, but busing is provided for students living in our boundaries east of Redwood Road and in the Harvey Heights neighborhood.
Smith Elementary serves approximately 750 students from kindergarten through sixth grade. We also house one preschool classrooms.
Computers and technology
All classrooms are equipped with ceiling mounted LCD projectors and a sound system. SMARTboards, iPODS, and iPADS are used in classrooms to enhance student learning. We have two computer labs; one for testing and the other serves as a project lab. Land Trust monies fund a Lab Coordinator to support students and teachers in curriculum assessments. Our STS is in the building for support 10 or more days each month.
