School Background
Calvin Smith Elementary is located in the south central area of Granite School District. It was built in 1979 to serve the growing population of the Bennion area. Calvin Smith is mainly a walking school, but busing is provided for students living in our boundaries east of Redwood Road and in the Harvey Heights neighborhood.
Enrollment
Smith Elementary serves approximately 506 students from kindergarten through fifth grade. We also house one preschool classroom.
Computers and technology All classrooms are equipped with ceiling mounted LCD projectors and a sound system. All students have a Chromebook to use in class and SMARTboards or Boxlights are used in classrooms to enhance student learning. Our Technology Coach is in the building for support 10 or more days each month.
Chinese Dual Language Program
Calvin Smith is one of two schools in Granite School District that offers the Dual Chinese Language Program starting in first grade. Those interested in this program must apply through Granite School District. Students outside of Calvin Smith boundaries are welcome to apply.

Students promoted from this school will attend: Bennion Junior High and Taylorsville High.
