Granite had a GREAT time celebrating the Be Awesome Online statewide initiative with the Governor at the Capitol last week. We were joined by KUTV, Fox News, and some of our amazing partners.
There are already many incredible resources available in the Be Awesome Online Toolkit regarding last week’s topic of Be SECURE Online and this week’s topic Be AWARE Online. The resources include fun games and activities families can enjoy together, as well as a really cute story written by former First Lady Jacalyn Leavitt featuring the McGruff Crime Dog and Faux Paw the Cat. It is available in both movie and written (fully illustrated!) format. This fun story is a great way for parents to kick start a conversation with little ones. There are also resources to help parents start the conversation with both young children and teens, searchable by age.
As we continue through the six weeks of daily challenges parents will have access to more resources like this for both adults and kids– everything from movies, books and online games to help kids learn about internet safety to searchable databases, tip sheets, mini-videos and eye opening infographics for parents. Our goal is to provide resources in multiple formats so that everyone can learn in the way that they learn best! The Toolkit will be available through April 20, 2020. Feel free to look for yourself
There are multiple options for families to connect to these helpful, 100% FREE resources to fit the needs of all families:

- Find and join the nearest local Facebook Community to get daily reminders, additional supporting information and events, and rewards and incentives!
- Report completion of the daily challenges in the Discovery Family Program to earn points that can help families win Utah Jazz tickets, family vacations, and more.
