The Halloween Parade will be on Friday, October 29th at 9:15 in the morning. NEW THIS YEAR—Not just because of COVID, but to make it more comfortable for all, we will parade outside around the entire perimeter of the building (if it is chilly, dress warm). This way, due to not being able to have large populations of visitors in the building, everyone can still enjoy a fun elementary school Halloween Parade! We ask that you appropriately distance between others and we DO STRONGLY RECOMMEND the wearing of masks at all school events, indoors or out. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come and join us for some spooktacular fun. If we are unlucky and have a snow/rain storm, we apologize, but the parade will be cancelled and a virtual video of students dressed up will be created and posted on our YouTube page for your enjoyment.
PM kindergarteners may participate in the morning parade. If you have a PM kindergartener, please bring them to school first thing in the morning for the parade and then pick them up immediately following the parade at the exterior classroom doors.
Please Note: We do parade around the interior of the building for the students both before and after we parade outside. Our main office doors will be locked until we are finished parading inside. We are hopeful our COVID numbers remain low. If they do, we will have parent volunteers assist with classroom parties. Please work with your PTA Room Parent and Teacher to plan a fun party for our students. We will follow COVID disinfecting and sanitizing protocols to mitigate the risk of exposure to any germs.
Here are just a few reminders about costumes:
¨ Costumes may not have parts that interfere with learning. This means no masks, no costumes that restrict movement or vision, prevent sitting at desks, or prevent participation in recess. Costumes should not obstruct movement in the hallways.
¨ Costumes may not be violent or suggestive, and may not have accessories/props that could be used as a weapon or look like a weapon.
¨ To help with student comfort, please save face painting for trick-or-treat time.
¨ To summarize, all costumes must be school appropriate.
¨ Students should come to school already dressed in their costumes and ready for the parade. School bathrooms may not be used for getting ready.
