Dear Cottonwood Family,
My favorite season is Spring! I love the smell of a fresh rain, the new flowers in bloom, the chirp of birds in the morning, and playing with my children and dog outside. My fingers are crossed for no more snow!
I sure hope you are all did some fun things during spring break. It was a lonely time for me here at school. I missed my darling Condors!
Thank you for helping us keep our environment the absolute best it can be and not distract from learning. Report cards will be coming home with your child this week. Be sure to backpacks and reach out to your child’s teacher if you don’t receive it by Friday. You can also pull up your child’s grades through your Granite Parent Portal. It’s hard to believe that we have begun the last grading period of the school year. The beginning of a new quarter is the perfect time to set goals to end the year strong. This is a very busy time of the year, and it will go by quickly.
March Madness was a lot of fun! Thank you for diligently working to get your children to school on-time. Our teachers loved being able to start the day right away and not miss a beat! Now that you’re in the habit, let’s keep it up the rest of the year. Who knows, we may just randomly surprise classes once in a while who have perfect attendance days.
Getting to school on-time and starting the day with peers is extremely important to social/emotional well-being. Starting the academic day with everyone in your class does increase achievement! Keep up the great work and let’s finish the year strong! These last two months are so important, and we have so many fun things planned!
RISE testing for grades 3-5 begins April 11th. It is very important that your child(ren) are here at school and participate in this testing. Past experience has shown that students who take the assessments with their class perform at a higher level than those who take a make–up test at a different time. If you need to schedule a medical appointment for your child within the next 8 weeks, please check our testing schedule (found in this newsletter) to find out what days grade levels are testing. Here are some tips to help your students during testing:
· Get a good night’s rest
· Have a positive attitude
· Eat a healthy breakfast
· Be on time to school
I am confident that our students will do well. they have worked extremely hard and have grown so much! They are scholars!
As always, thank you for being a partner in education! I love your students!!
Love,
Mrs. Cooper
