September 30, 2026Uncategorized

October has arrived, and with it comes cooler mornings, changing leaves, and all the wonderful signs of fall! As I look around our school, I am once again reminded of how incredibly fortunate I am to be part of the Cottonwood community. Last month, it was such a joy to meet with so many of our amazing parents during Parent-Teacher Conferences. I truly appreciate the time you took to come in, talk with our teachers, celebrate your child’s successes, and work together to support their growth. The partnership between home and school is so important, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us each day.

I also want to extend a huge thank-you to our Cottonwood families for your generous support of our school fundraiser! Your donations make a real difference. If you missed your opportunity to donate during our fundraiser, it’s not too late! You are always welcome to make a donation through our main office by cash or check. We are also happy to provide a receipt for your in-kind donations.

Every dollar helps support the many wonderful programs, experiences, and activities that make Cottonwood such a special place for children. Your generosity helps us provide opportunities that enrich our students’ school experience, and we are incredibly grateful for your support. Together we raised over $12,000 to support our school!

🍁 Fall Weather is Here!

As we head into the fall season, please remember to send your children to school dressed appropriately for the weather. Utah weather can change quickly! We can wake up to sunshine and mild temperatures, only to find ourselves facing chilly—and sometimes downright bitter cold—weather just an hour or two later.

As the saying goes: Prepare for the worst and hope for the best! 😊 Please consider sending students with layers, jackets, and other weather-appropriate clothing so they are comfortable and ready to learn throughout the day.

Most importantly, I want you to know how much I truly love and appreciate this Cottonwood community. Our students bring energy, laughter, curiosity, and joy into our building every day. Our teachers pour their hearts into their work. Our support staff continually step up to care for and encourage our students. And our parents partner with us, cheer for their children, volunteer, donate, communicate, and support our school in countless ways.

Every single one of you makes Cottonwood what it is.

There is something incredibly special about walking through our doors each morning and knowing that we are surrounded by people who care deeply about children. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to be your principal and to spend my days with the incredible students and adults who make Cottonwood Elementary such a wonderful place to be.

Thank you for sharing your children with us. Thank you for supporting our teachers. Thank you for supporting our school. And thank you for helping make Cottonwood a place where children can learn, grow, belong, and thrive.

Principal Cooper
