Dear Diamond Ridge Patrons,
Every day at Diamond Ridge we work very hard to keep our students, your children, safe! This year we are doing many things that we have never done before to keep all students, staff and patrons safe. THANK YOU to everyone who has been supporting our school in these efforts!
As the weather begins to change and more students are being dropped off and picked up each day, we would like to enlist the help of ALL parents, guardians and family members to keep our students and patrons safe in and around our school parking lots and streets. There is an extremely important procedure that we are asking all patrons to follow when dropping off or picking up students from Diamond Ridge Elementary. The following bulleted list are the most important highlights:
- The main parking lot is only for school busses, employees and patrons entering the building for official school business. THE MAIN LOT IS NOT FOR STUDENT DROP OFF/PICK UP, so please do not enter the main parking lot for this purpose.
- The pick-up circle, north of the main lot (entrance is on Clover Creek Lane), is for student drop-off and pick-up. Please wait in the line along Clover Creek to the north of the school.
- Students may enter cars that have pulled up to the curb in front of the school on the far west side of the circle. We will not be allowing students to get into cars until they pull up in front of the school in the circle.
- Cars need to stay in line and wait your turn. In order to make the process run smoothly and quickly, we ask that cars pull forward as far as they can before dropping off or picking up. STUDENTS MAY NOT BE DROPPED OFF OR PICKED OFF FROM THE INSIDE LANE IN THE CIRCLE.
- When exiting the circle, EXIT TO THE SOUTH, making a right hand turn only.
Beginning next week, our student safety patrol will be posted around the school before and after school. We would like to ask that all adults help teach our students respect and responsibility by setting a good example and following the procedures. Please see the Pick-Up & Drop-Off Flyer which explains the process in a bit more detail. Thank you for your understanding and patience with this process before and after school, it is not too much to ask to keep ALL our students and patrons safe!
Sincerely,
Andy Carbaugh
