There are a few things to be aware of as the year is coming to a close. Our PTA sponsored a field day on May 16. Students were able to play on some inflatables, use sidewalk chalk on the playground, and enjoy a Popsicle and some cookies. This year, Hillsdale Elementary did a Fun Run for our school fund raiser on March 17. Students worked hard at getting donations for their participation in the run. On the day of the run, everyone had a great time running laps to great music outside on the field. Each grade level had an hour to run. Lots of teachers and staff joined them. We only have 6 weeks before this amazing car show/ fundraiser that Kenworth Trucking Co. is sponsoring on behalf of Hillsdale and Stansbury Elementary. I have been meeting with this wonderful Kenworth team twice a month and they are working very hard to benefit our students. We have had a great year so far in our new Spanish two-way Dual Language Immersion Program (DLI). Our first grade students in this program are beginning to speak a little Spanish. It is fun to walk by the classroom and hear then chanting phrases together. These two classes will move into two second grade classes to continue learning half a day in Spanish and half a day in English. We are working on getting two great teachers to teach these ...
