*Update : Today, Friday, March 13, it is too cold to eat lunch outside. We have adjusted our lunch schedule so that only one grade level at a time is in the lunchroom. Students will be sitting with ample space between them and other students. Tables and benches will be cleaned thoroughly in between grades.
Parents and caregivers,
After reading through the recommendations for avoiding large gatherings of our students in close spaces, we have decided that we will change our lunchroom procedures until we have been informed by the health dept. and our district leadership the COVID-19 threat has passed.
Beginning tomorrow, March 13, we will have alternating grades eat lunch outside, like a picnic, so that only one grade level is eating lunch on the lunchroom tables at a time. Grade levels will rotate who is having a picnic so that all students have a chance to eat outside and at lunchroom tables. All students will be assisted with a comfortable place to eat, inside and out, whether they bring a lunch from home or purchase a lunch from school. This plan allows classrooms to maintain their normal schedule, dance and P.E. keep their regular schedules, and playground aides can continue with their normal schedules. This will be weather permitting and if it is too cold or wet to eat outside then we will proceed with alternate plans (lunch in the classroom, adjusting the lunch schedule, etc.) that will keep students from the close confines of the lunchroom tables. Additionally, all assemblies and field trips have been canceled for the foreseeable future.
Please contact the office if you have any additional questions, we will be in touch if anything changes.
Thanks and have a good night!
