Oakridge Faculty and Families,
It’s time for our school Halloween parade. On Tuesday, October 31st, we will be parading OUTSIDE starting at 9:00am. We would love for you to join us! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, coats, etc. and find a spot to sit or stand to watch the parade. We will start in the back of the school around the perimeter of the playground and around the school to the front of the building. The students will exit the building through the doors in the middle of the building on the back playground. The group will turn left out of the doors and continue north down the building to the end, turn right, then continue back up the playground heading South. Students will walk on the sidewalk toward the 3rd/4th grade doors on the south end and around to the front of the building. The classes will reenter through the front doors and continue parading throughout the building for the students and staff to see. Once the parade ends, students will go back to class to continue activities for the rest of the day.
Students need to come to school dressed in their costumes and ready for the parade. Please select costumes that are comfortable and can be worn all day. Students need to be able to sit comfortably in class and go outside to recess. Costumes must be school appropriate and free of weapons or facsimiles of weapons. Light face paint can be worn that allows us to identify students. Masks will not be permitted for students or adults.
The class Halloween parties and activities will take place after the parade. Parents who are helping with class parties will be asked to wait until the parade is over to enter the building. Check with your child’s teacher or room parent for specific information about their party and activities planned that day. We look forward to having you join us for this fun event for our school.
