As we at Oakridge recieve questions about wearing masks during the final weeks of school, we want to remind you about the information sent out by our district on Thursday, May 13. We recognize that everyone has a different level of comfort regarding wearing masks and we honor the decisions you make that are best for your family. We will continue enforce our Oakridge Rules of Respect, especially when it comes to respecting each other’s choices and levels of comfort. Thank you for your understanding.
Dear Granite District Patrons and Employees,
Earlier today, Governor Spencer Cox announced that the statewide mask mandate for K-12 public schools will end on May 31st of the current school year. This also means that all current testing protocols will also end on this date. Our Board of Education and Administration has consistently and diligently adhered to all statewide health orders throughout this pandemic in an effort to ensure our staff and student’s safety. As such, while masks are still recommended and individuals may still choose to wear a mask, they will not be required for the last week of the school year.
Attached is a copy of the statewide order. Masks will not be required for summer programming and unless a new statewide order is initiated, will not be required in the fall. A distance learning option (self-paced or live) will still be available to families who request it. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact your school or principal.
We express our profound gratitude for your patience, help and support through what has been a very challenging school year.
Sincerely,
Granite School District
