We are excited to start another year together at Oakridge Elementary! The first day of school for first through fifth grades is Monday, August 16. Kindergarteners will start with us on Thursday, August 19. Our front entry should be usable on the first day of school. Also, our office staff will be moving into our upgraded office space the first week of school, so we thank you in advance for your patience with us.
As was the case last year, we will implement mitigating measure for COVID-19 that follow the direction of the Utah Department of Health as it is listed in state law. View the full state health recommendations for schools at coronavirus.utah.gov/education/ and our school plan at Oakridge Elementary Mitigating Measures for COVID-19 in 2021-2022.
- Students and staff who are demonstrating any symptom of COVID-19 must stay home.
- Regular classroom instruction will take place on a Monday through Friday schedule. We encourage all students and staff to get vaccinated if and when possible.
- Schools will remain mindful of safe spacing and cleanliness to the highest degree possible. Hospital grade air filtration and circulation (up to four times per hour) will continue.
Per health department recommendations, masks are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED for all students and staff while indoors. Please be aware that, per state law, Granite School District does not have the authority to initiate a mask mandate for students. This is a dynamic situation, and district will comply with any and all state directives made at any point during the school year, and we will continue to adhere to guidance from the health department.
Neither Oakridge Elementary nor the district can require mask wearing. Harassment in any form, directed either at those who wear face coverings or those who choose not to, will not be tolerated.
