Dear Oakridge Families,
This has been a very unsual week with our distance learning days. We were all so happy to be back in the school today for a regular school day. Many thanks to our custodian Taylor for all the time he spent outside clearing the entries and sidewalks around our school. Thank you to our teachers for quickly responding to provide learning opportunities for our students at home. Lastly, thank you parents for being so supportive and helping your children with school work at home. We appreciate you so much!
We held our kindergarten orientation for new students attending kindergarten this fall. It was fun to see the students get so excited about being at school. Mrs. Christensen and Mrs. Creer organized a fun butterfly activity for our new Olympians.
Shelly Brown, a local author, visited our school today and spoke with our upper grade students about becoming an author and the books she has published. Shelly Brown and Chad Morris are the authors of Mustaches for Maddie, Squint, and their newest release, Virtually me.
Next week is Read Across America Week. “NEA’s Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program to get every child in every community to celebrate reading with the theme: Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers.” You can find more information on Read Across America Week at:
