This school year has gotten off to a great start. The kids are doing great and learning new things. The behaviors have also been great. With this in mind, I would like to share what our behavior plan look like at Pioneer.
Each day the all students start on the green level. Throughout the day, students have the option, based on their choices, to move up or down. If they make a choice that is not good, they move down to the next color but they then also have the option to move back up before the day ends. The purpose of this chart is to track how the students are doing and to enforce good behavior. We really are encouraging teachers to use this to reinforce positive behaviors and to help those that have clipped down to be able to clip up for good behaviors. At the end of the day, the teacher then marks the behavior colors on a data sheet and the kids all then start back on green the next day. If a students loses 5 points or more for the month, they then lose the privilege of attending our monthly behavior party, just for that month. At the start of each month, the points are erased and all students begin a new month.
Due to this behavior plan, the office referrals have been reduced by almost 50%. I am proud of how well the students are doing and how well the teachers are at using this great program.
If you have any questions about this, please call the school and we can answer any questions you might have.
Thank you all for your support.
Hello parents and students,
I am excited for another great and exciting school year. Pioneer is a wonderful school and I am so lucky to work at such a great school.
We have started breakfast in the classroom and it has been a success and the kids are enjoying coming to school to get some yummy breakfast.
We are also looking for parent volunteers here at the school at many levels. We are looking for extra help with our PTA. The PTA does such a great and amazing job supporting our school and teachers. The PTA needs extra support and help on the board in different areas of the PTA. We are also looking for parent volunteers in the classrooms on a daily basis to come in and support the teachers and work with kids in a smaller group setting.
I greatly appreciate all of the support you provide your kids at home. Please read with them or have them read daily for at least 20 minutes. This is so important for the their fluency and confidence.
I also highly suggest that you are logging into the portal to check your students grades and how they are doing. Showing support like this and having conversations about their day is huge.
Thank you again for all that you do for our school. It is priceless.
