Students can enroll in one quarter of a class at a time but may complete multiple quarters over the course of the school year. The cost is FREE and students can start at any time. SENIORS
Seniors, if you need a letter of recommendation for your Common App college applications, be sure to personally request a letter from your teacher, counselor, or mentor. You will want to fill out the Letter of Recommendation Request Form to give to your recommenders so that they have more information about you and can write you a more detailed letter. You can find the request form in the Counseling Center or ask your counselor to email you an electronic copy. Good practice is to give your recommenders two weeks’ notice prior to the application deadline. The general University of Utah application DOES NOT require letters of recommendation. If you have already submitted your Common App applications and require a counselor recommendation for any of your choice schools, please reach out to your counselor.

Class Presentations
These last few weeks we have been visiting social studies classes. We have been giving students the opportunity to take the YouScience Appitude Test. An email was sent to each student with the access code for this assessment. This test is a great way for the students to find their strengths and look at careers that play to those strengths. We hope your students will take this test and explore their results and see what opportunities are out there.
Community of Caring
Have you heard of our class here at Skyline? We are a service-based class and last quarter our students logged over 7,200 service hours!!! That is incredible considering the times we are living in. Even more so than in years past, there is a great need for compassion and service and our students are finding ways to get out and serve! Our class is based on the 5 values of Community, Trust, Service, Honesty and Respect. The students in these classes are amazing and their excitement for helping lift others is astounding. This is truly a happy feel-good class!
We will be starting 2 donation drives next week and these will run through January 7th. First, we will be working with the Utah Refugee Connection gathering NEW warm gloves and hats for the refugees in our community. Second, we will be gathering donations of feminine hygiene products to give to the women’s shelters of Salt Lake. If you would like to donate, we will have boxes set up near the entrance doors of Skyline and in the office as well. We are also happy to collect monetary donations. These can be paid to the office. We would appreciate you and your student’s help to make our donation drives a success! If you have questions, you can contact, Amy Brindley – ambrindley@graniteschools.org.
GO EAGLES!!!!!
