Welcome to our schools Community Council. Our purpose is to address the academic needs of students at the local level by evaluating and providing opportunities and programs for their benefit.

Meeting Schedule and Agenda

Community members are invited to attend council meetings, but do not hold influence over council discussion points or decisions. If you have a concern for your Community Council, please reach out before-hand to one of the council members.

  • Location: Skyline High School Conference Room
  • Time: 6:45 AM
  • Next Agenda: Review the agenda for our upcoming meeting.
  • Schedule: Every 2nd Thursday from September-June - *Meeting date moved from second Thursday of the month due to scheduling conflicts

Council Members

Council Members are chosen by election and are a mixture of school staff and community members. Candidacy and election procedures begin before each school year.

Serving on the Community Council allows parents to directly influence the way LAND Trust funds are used during the school year, which can include programs, materials, and other education-based solutions.

LAND Trust

LAND Trust is a school funding program that provides discretionary funds for academic and student success. For more information about this program, visit the LAND Trust Program website.

2022-2023

  • School Plan / Final Report
  • Funds received: $282,450.37
  • Funds used for: 1. Professional Development for teachers specific to the content they teach and the strategies being employed to improve outcomes via instruction. 2. Teachers will participate in Instructional Coaching cycles to improve outcomes for students via improved instruction. 3. Additional periods will be added to the master schedule to strategically reduce class size. 4. Teachers will support after hours tutoring for students. 5. Additional technology will be provided to ensure students maintain a one-to- one with chromebooks and their classrooms are equipped with ecessary technology to enhance and improve the teaching and learning such that student outcomes improve. 6. Additional teacher supplies for improved instruction will be provided. 7. The community council is dedicating support for digital safety to enhance the ability of students to remain focused on academics.

2021-2022

  • Funds used for: Increase proficiency on state assessments in Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science; increase graduate rate; provide student tutoring after contract hours; purchase Chromebooks

2020-2021

  • Funds used for: Prep Periods, Hourly Paraprofessionals, Psychologist, Counselor and College Advisor, IB Coordinator, Credit Recovery, Teacher Stipends, Summer Boot Camp, Tutoring
