Weekly Announcements for Skyline High School
Please do not reply to this email, it does not go to an official email.
Seniors – I have added a Senior Section at the end of the announcements for special announcements for you. Please note a date change for Caps and Gowns.
AP/IB Test Takers and Attendance:
Parents, we understand the stress and effort of taking an AP and IB test. Students taking an AP/IB exam will now automatically be excused by the school for the FULL DAY of the exam. Starting May 6, please do not call the office to excuse your student from any class periods on days they are taking an AP/IB exam. If they had an AP or IB test prior to May 6th and missed a class that was not during the test time and have not excused it, please still contact the attendance office to excuse those absences. If you are not sure if they had an absence or if it was excused, please check under the attendance tab in Canvas. You can see your student’s attendance record there. If your student would still like to attend their morning or afternoon classes on a test day, they may still go, but it is not required go or necessary excuse. skylineattendance@graniteschools.org 385-646-5433
Textbook and Chromebook End of Year Check-in procedures for all students:
- Distance Learner textbook check-in day is Friday, May 21st from 8 AM-12 PM. No appointment necessary.
- In person Learner textbooks will be returned during English classes on Monday, May 24th and Tuesday, May 25th. Students will bring all textbooks to their English class on their assigned day.
- All textbooks must be returned by 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 26th.
- Any items that are not returned during this time will be marked lost and will receive fines for the cost of the material. Students with late items will receive a $5.00 late fee as well (per student not per item). When the book/item is returned the cost of the item will be removed from the account, but the late fee will not.
It has been decided that 9-11th grade students who will be returning to Skyline will be keeping their Chromebooks over the summer, so they are ready to start on day one of next year. 9-11th grade students who will NOT be returning to Skyline will return their Chromebooks and chargers along with their textbooks.
Each student will be asked to sign a contract with the information of the Chromebook that they currently have checked out to them. These will be processed through the Media Center. (We will send details out the day before so that you know to bring Chromebooks. Distance learners will have an online contract to sign. More details will come.)
12th graders will return Chromebooks and chargers along with their textbooks on the above assigned days.
