Please review the following weekly announcements regarding Academics, Arts, and Athletics at Skyline High School.
Greetings from Skyline High School as we anticipate and prepare for the new school year. We are anxious to welcome students into the new Nest, at Skyline High School. Please join us for an open house to find classes and see the building on Tuesday, August 13th, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Freshman Orientation
Freshman Orientation will be held the morning of the first day of school in the Skyline High School Gymnasium beginning at 7:30 am. This is a required orientation that is happening during school hours for all freshmen students. This event is for students only, no parents. Thank you.
Agenda for Freshman Orientation
- 7:30 am – Welcome to the NEST, presented by the Skyline Faculty and Skyline Student Government, Cheerleaders, and RISE Ambassadors.
- Approx: 8:40 am – Excused in groups to find classrooms, common spaces, etc.
A-Day, B-Day
Skyline will follow the same A/B schedule it did last year. All Mondays and Wednesdays are A days, All Tuesdays and Thursdays are B days. Fridays alternate between A/B days. Additionally, schedules show classes numbered 1-8. Classes numbered 1-4 are on A day, classes numbered 5-8 are on B day. The schedule is attached for your review.
First Week of School
Tuesday, August 13th
- Open House from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Cookies served while they last.
Wednesday*, August 14th
- Freshman Orientation begins at 7:30 am in the Skyline High School Gym.
- All students, sophomore – senior are welcome to begin arriving after 8:30 am.
- Classes for all students begin at 9:30 am.
Thursday, August 15th
- Classes for all students begin at 7:30 am.
- Hello Day Assembly begins at 8:50 am.
- Girls Varsity Soccer vs. Herriman – 7:00 pm under the lights.
Friday**, August 16th
- Essential Class Change Day begins at 7:30 am.
- Classes for all students begin at 9:30 am.
- Varsity Football @ Viemont – 7:00 pm – Viewmont High School.
*GTI classes will not be held on Wednesday, August 14th. During the normal school year, GTI busses run at the same time Mon. – Thurs. with a modified schedule on Fridays due to late-start. If you would like more information about the opportunities in Career and Technical Education available at the Granite Technical Institute, please contact the career center at Skyline High.
**Normal Friday classes begin at 8:30 am throughout the year.

PTSA Section
Thank you to the parents, teachers and others who have already joined PTSA or made a donation this year. We could not function without you!
We are thrilled to help sponsor RISE lunches, Reflections, teacher and student mini grants, Teacher Appreciation Week and many other programs and activities that benefit our school.
Please help us reach our membership and donation goals. Memberships are $10 each and a donation of $25 is suggested, but any amount is greatly appreciated and will be used to provide great programs and support for our school.

Parking
Access to the main office and student/visitor parking is only available on East side of Skyline from Virginia Avenue. Parking permits are only sold to juniors and seniors. Parking is available only on the East side of Skyline and in the church parking lot on 3103 East Craig Drive.
Skyline App
Download the Skyline App for free from the Apple or Google Play store. The Skyline App has daily events, direct phone links to the attendance office, and bell schedules. The app is an excellent way to know about events at Skyline High School.
Registration/Re-enrollment
Registration/Re-enrollment is currently in progress. Granite School District is in the process of implementing new software called Focus. All students must re-enroll through Focus. Please refer to the instructions for this process on the Skyline website. Search for and download the Granite School District Community App from the Apple or Google Play store. The app will allow you to follow your student(s) and keep track of their classes and academics as well as other functions.
