Salt Lake County Initiates Mask Mandate
Dear Granite District Families and Employees,
As you may be aware, COVID case counts in our community and school have started to rise dramatically. The Salt Lake County Health Department has initiated a countywide mask mandate ( Click here to see the order) in effect starting this evening at midnight and running for the next 30-days. At all activities and events on school property, starting tomorrow and when students return to school on Monday, January 10th, they will be required to wear a mask. We would encourage you to have your student come to school with a mask, however, schools will have masks available to your student if they don’t have one.
If any of our schools reaches 30 cases (for schools with less than 1500 students) or 2% of student population (for schools with more than 1500 students), state law requires a “Test to Stay,” protocol, wherein students would be required (with parental permission) to be tested for COVID. Students who test positive or who are unable to be tested, would NOT be permitted to attend school for in-person instruction for a period of 10-days. For more information on case counts and Test to Stay, please visit https://www.graniteschools.org/covid/.
In the event of a Test to Stay protocol being initiated, parental permission for testing would be required. Click here to provide that authorization – https://c19.health.utah.gov/surveys/?s=ACRKKX7HTJ. PLEASE REGISTER YOUR STUDENT(s) ASAP IF YOU HAVE NOT REGISTERED THIS CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR.
Students who qualify for a mask exemption under the order may make that request by contacting the Related Services office at (385) 646-4548. Employees should contact the Benefits office at benefits@graniteschools.org.
We strongly encourage families to take other appropriate measures while at home and in the community to reduce the spread of COVID including getting vaccinated if you are eligible to do so. Click here for free testing sites in Salt Lake County – testing. As a reminder, if your child is sick or demonstrating symptoms, they MUST STAY HOME and reach out to your health care provider or the Health Department for guidance.
Please recognize that we have vulnerable students and staff within our schools. There are also sensitive members of our community who could be impacted by exposure from asymptomatic individuals. We thank you in advance for your patience and support as we work to keep our students and staff safe in the midst of this pandemic.
Sincerely,
Granite School District
School News – December 3, 2021
Happy December! We hope you were all able to have a wonderful Thanksgiving and break with your family and friends. It was great to get back to school and get back to what we love – learning. The students are working so hard to learn all they can about reading, writing, math and science. We appreciate you sending them to school everyday and having them come on time. Being on time makes a huge impact on their learning to ensure they do not miss out of their learning.
We are so excited for December to be here and for the spirit of the season to be at Stansbury. We have planned some fun, but voluntary daily activities for all our staff and students to participate in. Please see the attached image for our daily activities. Also, please know that with it being December the weather will begin to change and get cold. Please make sure that your student(s) have appropriate clothing for going outside at recesses. We have a school-wide Weather Policy that can be found on our website. We go outside everyday unless the weather is extreme. Warm jackets, hats, gloves, boots are recommended each day that the weather may be on the cold or stormy side. If your student is showing symptoms of being ill please keep them home and call the school at 385-646-5032 to let them know of the absence. We still highly suggest masks for all who come into our building and they are available if needed in the front office or in the classroom.
Reminder that the last day of school for December will be Friday, December 17th. There will not be any school during our Winter Break from December 20 through January 1. School will resume on Monday, January 3, 2022. We hope that you all will have a wonderful Winter Break. Please take the time to read or listen to a good book. Reading is such a wonderful way to support your students learning at school. Thank you for your sending your students to Stansbury!!

School News – November 15, 2021
Hello Stansbury Families,
We are two weeks into second quarter and we are off to great start. It is great to see all the learning happening in the classrooms and the effort our teachers and students are putting in. We are excited to share their growth with you and we encourage you to look at your student’s grades in Granite’s Parent Portal. Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns.
We are having some difficulties at recesses with students not following our school expectations of keeping their hands and feet to themselves and using appropriate language on the playground. We could really use your support in talking to your students and reminding them to follow these rules while at school.
We have our monthly School Community Council, Annual Title I, and PTA meeting this Monday, November 15th at 9:00 am. We would love for you to join us in-person at the school or by Zoom https://graniteschools-org.zoom.us/j/85318053324?pwd=N01PcmVJRnRrS3BOdWx4NFJvVGlUUT09
Have a wonderful week,

Hello Stansbury Families-
We hope you had a wonderful Fall Break and were able to enjoy some fun activities. We are excited to begin 2nd quarter this week as well as celebrate Halloween. As a reminder we will be celebrating Halloween on Friday, October 29th. We will have our Halloween Parade beginning at 9:30 am inside the school for our students and then we will take the parade outside on our back playground for our parents and families. We encourage you to bring your own chairs and/or blankets if you’d like to sit down during the parade. Parents will not be allowed in the building when the parade ends.
If you would prefer for your student to not participate in the parade you MUST contact your student’s teacher and let them know by Thursday, October 28th so we are able to provide an alternate activity for them during the parade.
A few more reminders:
- We will celebrate Halloween this year on Friday, October 29th beginning at 9:30 am. We will be holding an outdoor parade for those families wishing to attend. Please bring your own chairs if you’d like to sit along the student parade route at the back of our school. Please know that parents will not be allowed in the building before or after the parade as we are still following the Covid safety guidelines.
- Please send your student to school in their costume. Please send additional clothes if they would like to change after the parade.
- Full face-masks for costumes will not be allowed. Masks to protect from Covid and strongly recommended.
- Weapons that go along with costumes will not be allowed.
- Please make sure that your child’s costume is school appropriate. They will be asked to change if the costume is not appropriate.
