News report- What's going on around the school? We have the awards assembly that happened. Congratulations to those students that got awards. We also had top tiger lunch, I hope they enjoyed that. We have had quite a few things happen in school that resulted in getting students recognized. The students at Taylorsville Elementary work so hard and they should be called by name. As a grade level- the most box tops collected go to: SECOND GRADE!!! They collected 1,660 box tops!! Way to help contrinute to our school. Before the Holiday break, our second graders were able to attend the second half of the production of The Nutcracker. The students in Ms. Earl, Ms. Terry, and Mr. Watt's class, were very excited to get dressed up and see some fancy dancing. They had a great time and were super impressed by the guy who could do 8 toe touches and flips during the dragon dance. Of course a favorite was the lady with kids in her skirt. Events happening this month        This month of December, Taylorsville Elementary has been buzzing with anticipation for Christmas break. Today is the last day for students to buy at the Santa Shop. The students were able to preview gifts and get an idea of what they wanted to get for their family. This is our second year doing the WOW! Attendance program and we are seeing quite of success in getting students on time and to school. We apprecaite you parents for being a part of that. Last year, we had classes get a word and for every student that was in their seat with all students accounted for, they would color in a letter for that word. To help celebrate Veteran's Day, a few teachers wore jeans for troops. If you have noticed, jeans aren't worn too much around here, so this was a special day. We had a wonderful Fundraiser with Great American opportunities. We want to thank everyone that supported, sold, and bought to bring money into the school. We sold $20, 000 worth of items, which meant the school earned $8,000!! Way to go Tigers!!!! We are getting bids placed as this is being read (11.6.13) for a marquee price and sound system price. We are having our school Carnival, rain or shine on Thursday, October 24th. The rain and SEP's left us unable to do it last month, but this month we have space inside if the weather is not on our side! $1 for food and rides. Hope to see you!!
