Dear Parents and Students:
Parents just a reminder there will be no school on Friday, May 6th as it is a teacher work day. I just want give a huge shout out to all those that helped and participated in the Medieval Banquet! It was a great experience.
PTA
Next week (May 2-6) is Teacher Appreciation Week! We will be having a week-long Fiesta for our teachers and staff. Please find a way for you and your student to show your appreciation to our amazing teachers and staff. Write them a note, send them a gift, give them a treat! Let’s spoil them this week
YEARBOOKS AND OUTSTANDING BALANCES DUE
If you would like to order your student a yearbook please get those orders in ASAP. Also, yearbooks can’t be picked up if your student has an outstanding balance on their account. Please take care of those balances well in advance of yearbook day (June 1) to avoid your student having to stand in a very long line to pay fees. If you are unsure if you have already ordered a yearbook or would like to pay off your students balance over the phone, please email caflanagan@graniteschools.org or call 385-646-3701.
YEAR END–RISE TESTING
The year-end state RISE assessments will be administered on May 10, 12, 17. The whole school will be assessed all at one time from 8-11am with a snack break, similar to the past 4 years. We want all students to be assessed including current Distance Learners. By having all our students test, we will have a better understanding of how we need to adjust instruction and intervention for students next school year. We use the data from these state assessments to make goals and determine funding in the school. Your student’s best participation and effort is greatly appreciated. Please remember to eat a good breakfast, charge your Chromebook and bring a pair of headphones if you have them.
FROM THE COUNSELORS
Students interested in taking a Granite Online class this summer need to see their counselor for the registration form. Taking online high school classes in the summer can free up room in your high school schedule. Granite Online also offers a limited number of Junior High classes. Classes fill up fast so be sure to see your counselor next week to see if taking an online class over the summer is right for you!
