ELECTIONS FOR SBOs & 7TH GRADE REPRESENTATIVES!
It’s Election season at Wasatch!
Are you interested in being a part of Student Government?
Do you want to be a leader in your school community?
Are you outgoing, responsible, and ready to shape the future of Wasatch?
Join us for a brief, 30 min election introduction meeting; we will be discussing deadlines, eligibility, and general questions concerning the 23-24 year, as it pertains to student leaders.
The meeting will be held on Monday, April 3rd at 2:50 p.m. in the Wasatch library. This is a mandatory meeting for any student looking to run. Election forms will be available; they must be signed and returned by the end of the school day Thursday, April 6th. No applications will be accepted after 3:00pm
If you have any immediate questions, see Mr. Stewart or Vice Principal Dehaan.
7TH GRADE FIELD TRIP
The Wasatch 7th Grade Team is excited to announce the return of our Annual 7th Grade Field Trip on Monday, April 24th! Every qualifying 7th Grader is invited to attend a day at the This is the Place Heritage Park to see Utah history and put into context what they’ve learned in their Utah Studies classes this year. Students needed to receive no office referrals and have a posted citizenship average of 3.2 for 3rd Quarter to qualify for the field trip. The list of qualifying students will be posted at the office no later than Friday, April 7th, but please fill in the paperwork even if you’re not sure if your student qualifies! The 7th Grade Team will be working with students who don’t qualify to see if there is a way we can get them on the bus with us.
All 7th Grade students will be sent home a permission slip this Monday, March 20th during their math class, which will need to be signed in order to allow a 7th grader to attend the field trip. Students who turn in their permission slip to their math teacher by Friday, March 24th will get a treat for being one of our early birds! If you’re needing to order a school lunch for the trip, you’ll need to get your permission slip in by Wednesday, April 12th. The last day to turn in the form is Thursday, April 20th!
Also, we’re asking for parent volunteers to come with the students on the trip, as we’ll need more chaperones than we have teachers at the school. Each permission slip will have a place for you to fill in some information in case you’re interested, and we hope that you are! We’ll need about 25 or so volunteers, and your ticket to This is the Place will be paid for. The time commitment would be from about 9:00 AM to 2:15 PM on the day of the field trip.
We’re so excited for the return of our 7th Grade Trip, we all had an absolute blast last year, and hope you’ll consider joining us! Those dates are, again:
Monday, March 20th – Permission slips sent home
Friday, March 24th – Early Bird permission slip date – get a treat!
Wednesday, April 12th – Last day to request a school lunch with your trip
Thursday, April 20th – Last day to turn in your permission slips
Monday, April 24th – Annual 7th Grade Field Trip to This is the Place Heritage Park
