Volunteer Opportunities
Morningside Elementary and Upland Terrace Elementary are both holding their annual PTA carnivals in the coming weeks. Morningside is next Friday, September 6th and Upland is Friday, September 13th. Both elementaries are looking for volunteers to help with running games, handing out food and face painting. There’s even an opportunity to wear Upland’s mascot costume! If you or your student is interested in volunteering, please sign up on the Morningside SignUpGenius and/or the Upland Terrace SignUpGenius.
8th Grade Parents
The Wasatch counselors are required by the state to get together with each 8th grade student and their parent(s)/guardian(s) for a College and Career Planning Meeting. This meeting is a time to celebrate your student, discuss their strengths and interests, and give them some guidance as they prepare to select their classes for their freshman year of high school.
The students will have an assignment for their CCA class to watch a video prepared by the counseling center to lay the groundwork for the meeting. It is crucial that they watch this video with the parent or guardian who will be attending the meeting with them. After watching the video, there will be instructions for scheduling the meeting with your student’s counselor. The window for these meetings is from September 16 through November 1.
The Drowsy Chaperone JR Auditions
We are pleased to announce the school musical this year is The Drowsy Chaperone JR!
Due to the school schedule and difficulty of the music, we’re going to hold auditions a bit earlier than usual. All who want to be in the musical (Ensemble or Speaking Part) need to attend the Dance Auditions on Monday, September 30th. Speaking part auditions will be October 2 & 3 after school. There will be a sign-up sheet to sign up for a specific time slot. Callbacks will be broken up into two days, October 7th and 8th, with the cast list being posted on October 9th.
Full audition details and audition materials will be posted on the WJH Theatre website next week.
