Hello Eastwood Families –
With Winter Break quickly approaching, I wanted to take a minute to wish you all Happy Holidays! I count being associated with all of you through Eastwood as one of the best parts of my life. You each play a part in the success of our school. Thank you.
Our Thankful for a Bank Full fundraiser will conclude (for prizes-as we will always take donations) on December 17, 2021. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who have donated. Our goal is $15,000.00 and as of today our total collected is. . . $11,874.97! Almost there!
I am sure you have heard about the shortage of substitute teachers across the district and the state. We are fortunate at Eastwood to have the support of numerous para educators who step in when needed. We would like to have additional folks to go through the application process in order to help if needed. Please see below for further information.
Substitute Teachers Needed
If you or someone you know is interested in being a substitute for Eastwood only, Eastwood PTA will pay for your $40 background check fee. The district is also offering cash bonuses. Even if you can only fill in a couple of times this school year, it would be a tremendous help.

If you do not want to be hired as a substitute but are willing to go through the background check process, you would then be cleared to supervise a classroom or a group of students and not be supervised by a teacher. This helps us in allowing teachers to have time for planning, celebrating, field trip supervision, etc. For this position, use the same link and look for the volunteer posting for Eastwood.
Tomorrow, December 15 is Ugly Sweater Day and Friday. December 17 is pajama day. Remember that sweaters and pajamas must be school appropriate.
Tomorrow, December 15 is also our (Salt Lake County Health Department) vaccine clinic from 3:30-7:00 PM. All COVID vaccines, boosters, etc. will be available for anyone ages 5 and up.
Our PTA has put together a list of Favorite Things for all staff members, I have attached it to this communication.
