What is the Eastwood PTA?

And why join?

First, the Eastwood Parent Teacher Association (PTA)is a group of dedicated individuals on a mission to make Eastwood Elementary the best place for our children to learn.

There are many reasons to join the PTA. On a local level, being a member of the Eastwood PTA shows your support for our efforts to supplement and enhance our school’s environment.  It also gives you a voice in our PTA programs and events throughout the year.  At the state and national level, being a member of the PTA shows your support for the State and National PTA and their advocacy efforts for children’s rights and education. Their efforts are noticed during our legislative sessions.

How does the Eastwood PTA do all of this?
Volunteers and Donations

Volunteers

Our PTA is lucky to have such a dedicated group of volunteers that are willing to put in the effort to make Eastwood one of the top schools in the Granite School District. Without the community’s support, the PTA simply could not run these events and programs year after year.

Here are a few ways you can be involved:

  • Join the Eastwood Elementary PTA
  • Attend events at the school
  • Participate in school activities
  • Support fundraisers/make a donation
  • Volunteer on a committee
  • Head a committee
  • Serve as a board member

Donations

In addition to all the hard work our volunteers do for us, we are also extraordinarily lucky to have a financially generous community. Without the funds donated to the PTA, we could not do all of the events or support Eastwood’s programs.

Not only do funds donated to the PTA support our events and programs they also supplement other things throughout the school, such as:

  • SOAR Store prizes
  • Classroom supplies
  • Library books
  • Playground supplies
  • Art supplies

Thanks to prior generosity, buddy benches, harmonic flowers, and chimes were added to our playgrounds. In addition, the PTA paid for a science specialist for Eastwood from 2017 through 2020.

You Belong in the PTA

Teachers, parents, students, and the community come together to learn, teach, celebrate, change, lead, volunteer, listen and stay informed.  Everyone has a place, a voice, and a choice in the Eastwood PTA. We hope to see you there!
