All students need to be registered each year. This process is done yearly to secure student enrollment, gather updated information, and meet audit requirements.

2024-2025 Eastwood Registration Information

Online registration opens Monday, July 29th. All students need to be registered each year. Classroom assignments will be available after you complete all steps in the registration process.

Enrollment

If your family is new to Eastwood Elementary, you must come to the school in person to enroll your child(ren) before you can complete online registration. Visit us at the main office between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. starting July 25th to complete the enrollment process.

Families of incoming kindergarteners and new Eastwood students need to provide proof of residency and a copy of their child’s birth certificate and immunization records in order to register. If you already turned in any of these items, you will not need to submit them again.

Online Registration

Online registration is available Monday, July 29th. It is important that EVERY family login and register each child who will be attending Eastwood this year.

Information is located at the School Registration Information section of the Granite School District website. https://www.graniteschools.org/schoolleadership/school-registration-information/ (url)

  • Note: Parents and Guardians must have a Portal Account to access online registration. Go to https://www.graniteschools.org/infosystems/parent-portal-resources/ (url)  for instructions on how to create a Portal Account.

Classroom Assignments

Each year, students have the opportunity to experience a variety of teaching styles and personalities while making new friends. We have fantastic teachers at Eastwood and our students are in great hands no matter their teacher. When you complete your online registration, you will see who your child’s teacher is for the upcoming school year.

Please understand that when creating classes, there are many factors considered and this process is something that we take seriously. A considerable amount of time and care goes into preparing class lists. The primary goal is placing children in the best instructional environment possible. Several factors are considered as we form classes, including but not limited to:

  1. Range of academic performance
  2. Range of social and behavioral performance
  3. Balance of boys and girls
  4. Balance of independent and dependent workers
  5. Balance of special needs
  6. Separation of students who may not work together

“Classroom Chemistry” has a tremendous impact on the success of each student. Because of this, we strive to create groups of students that are balanced in every area possible.

Parent input, via Learning Environment Forms, was taken into consideration last spring when creating these class lists. Please understand that specific teacher requests cannot be honored due to all the factors we must consider when creating a heterogeneously balanced classroom. We appreciate your trust and support in our efforts to make your child’s learning experience successful and happy.
