Beginning of the Year Information

We are excited to start a great year together at Eastwood Elementary!

First Day of School

First through fifth grades
- School begins Thursday, August 18th from 8:35 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
- The first two days of school are early release days.
Kindergarten
- School begins Tuesday, August 23rd at 8:35 a.m.
- PTA is sponsoring a breakfast that morning for our kindergarten families and new families. Join us in the cafeteria at 8:40 a.m. and “Get to Know Eastwood”.
Students will be lining up outside. Teachers and support staff will be available before school to help you and your children find their spots to line up.
For everyone’s safety, please follow the attached Parking Lot Safety Guidelines. Remember to park in the northwest parking lot.
- Please be patient with us and each other! We are teaching our students expectations and procedures, so it may take us a little longer at first.

All USDA Nationwide waivers have expired, so we can no longer offer free lunches to all students.
Families can and are encouraged to apply for Free or Reduced meals. Apply online at https://www.myschoolapps.com
Student lunches are $1.50 and beverages are $0.30.

The link to lunch menus is available on our school website. We try our best to serve the menus we post; sometimes circumstances beyond our control require us to make last minute changes.

Join us on Thursday, August 25th at 5:00 p.m.
- We will begin together in the gym. You will hear from our PTA and new principal.
- After, there will be three fifteen-minute sessions in the classrooms.
- Make sure to thank our wonderful teachers for sharing their evening with us.

We are looking for two parents/guardians to serve on our Community Council.
Declare your candidacy by filling out the attached form and returning it to our principal by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22nd.
