Dear Eastwood Families,
As we prepare for our final day of the 2022-2023 academic year, I want to share my appreciation with each of you. My first year at Eastwood has been fantastic. I was told by many that there is something truly special about Eastwood Elementary. Now I understand and wholeheartedly agree. We have top-notch students, families, parents, volunteers, teachers and staff. Our students were reminded frequently to do their best and their best is inspiring. Your attendance and participation at every event, big or small, is impressive. Everyone’s care and passion is contagious. It is truly an honor to be part of the Eastwood family.
Following are a few reminders and information I wanted to share with you. Please contact me if you have specific questions.
Summer Activities
- Amira
- Students have access to Amira over the summer.
- To log in, your children will go to the Granite student portal. Once on the portal, they will access Amira through the Clever tile. The graphic below shows the steps to follow once in the portal.
- PTA Reflections
- Students can express themselves through the arts by participating in the National PTA Reflections Program. The theme for the 2023-2024 year is I am Hopeful Because… Students can start working on their entries for one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. More information is available at https://www.pta.org/home/programs/reflections
- Summer Learning Calendar
- Are you looking for a way to continue to engage your children in learning this summer? Look no further. Granite School District’s math, literacy and science specialists put together summer learning calendars.
- To log in, your children will go to the Granite student portal. Once on the portal, they will click on “Summer Learning” on the left side of the screen. Click on the Summer Learning icon (pictured below) and explore.
- All grades k-5 have an individual calendar for June, July and August. In these calendars, you will see links to daily learning activities in reading & math, and weekly science activities. They have also included weekly field trips for a fun adventure! These are, of course, just suggestions but a systematic way to help your children at home throughout the summer.
Summer Lunch Sites
- All children 0-18 can eat one lunch free each day! See the attached flyer for information about summer lunches and service sites.
