Students who demonstrated expectation (positive) behavior earn rewards at school. We have school-wide systems that all teachers use and then each teacher has their own system for the classroom. Be sure to ask your child’s teacher what system their classroom uses to reward expected behaviors in addition to our school-wide incentives.

B.E.S.T. Tickets

B.E.S.T. tickets are given to students by any adult in the building that sees them going above and beyond expectations.  Students turn these tickets in to an adult in the cafeteria at lunchtime and receive a small prize.  All B.E.S.T. tickets collected during the week go into a drawing at the end of the week and 10 students are chosen at random to win a larger prize and have them names announced on Monday mornings. We also highlight those student winners throughout the week on a television that is in hallway going into the cafeteria.

B.E.S.T. Bash

Each individual student earns points daily to attend a party held every other month we like to call the B.E.S.T. Bash.  Teachers keep track of daily points in a spreadsheet and students who earn 80 percent of their points get to attend the B.E.S.T. Bash.  Points are earned in the following ways:

  • Student is at school, no behavior problems…………………………………….10 points
  • Student had a behavior issue and had to fill out a think sheet………7 points
  • Student had a behavior issue and had to visit another classroom
  • and parents received a phone call………………………………………………………6 points
  • Student received a referral to the office……………………………………………5 points
  • Student received in school or out of school suspension………………..0 points

Class Dojo

Most Granger Elementary teachers use Class Dojo to award points to students and it is part of their reward system.  We also use ClassDojo as a way to communicate with parents.  If you are not connected to your child’s classroom via the ClassDojo app, contact your child’s teacher directly.

Token Tower

Students have the opportunity in special classes such as P.E., Library, Music, Science, etc to earn special tokens for showing excellent behavior.  Students who receive these tokens take their token to the office and use it get a prize out of the Token Tower.
