The focus of Title I schools is to help students achieve proficiency on core standards, closing academic gaps that may exist. These efforts include providing targeted supports to at-risk students, building teachers' capacity through professional development, and strengthening parents' abilities in helping their children succeed.

Parent Engagement Policy
Granger Elementary Parent and Family Engagement Policy
Teachers and Staff at Granger Elementary respect parents as the first and most important teachers of their children. We strive to engage parents in their children\'s education in an ongoing manner. We have many diverse cultures, languages and individual student needs at Granger. We encourage parents and guardians to participate as school volunteers, work with PTA, and attend School Community Council meetings.
Communication is key between parents and teachers. We have a goal of all parents and guardians being connected with the classroom teacher through DoJo. Most school communications will be sent via DoJo. We also encourage parents and guardians to set up an email and register through the Granite District Portal to view grade progress and receive information from the district and the school.
Please be sure to join us at our annual Fall into Math night where you will be able to put together math activities to work with your student at home. Parents of Kindergarten and First Grade students can attend classes at the Family Center to show you how you may work with your student to increase their reading ability. Literacy Night in the spring and fall works with all parents on Literacy games and reading practices.
Parents have rights to provide input on school engagement practices and to be active participants and decision-makers in the development of school-wide initiatives through participating in school Parent Teacher Associations (PTA), attending School Community Council meetings, volunteering at the school, attending SEPs and evening events. You may also be able to participate in home visits with teachers. Home visits are optional for teachers and for families. Watch for an email and DoJo message in January inviting you to give feedback and suggest changes to school goals, this Engagement Policy, and the Parent-School Compact as a part of our Continual Improvement Plan going forward into the 2023-2024 school year.
