Kearns High School dance students have been working so hard for the upcoming showcase on December 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. In a search for interdisciplinary ways for our students to further explore and create dances and are pleased to introduce “Poetry in Motion”, a night of works choreographed by our dance students, fully influenced by poetry.
Our students will be decorating the dance hallway and you will be able to see the poems they have used as well as some other points of inspiration. Please stop by, before or after the concert, and browse, as this is an activity that my students are really excited about and have been planning hard.
We are also really excited to introduce a poetry competition in conjunction with Poetry in Motion. Any student that comes to see our concert on December 15th is asked to create a poem inspired by a dance or by the entire concert. There are no limitations on this poem, and all appropriate entries that address either one dance or the concert will be accepted. These poems are due December 19, 2016. All entries will be entered in a drawing for a gift card, with the best entry also receiving a gift card.
If you have any questions you can ask Ms. Anderson or Ms. Mueller. We are excited to see all the submissions
