Dear Parent/Guardian,
It’s that time of year! Students will be selecting classes for next school year beginning this week. Your student will be (or has been) given a copy of our course selection card to review with parents at home. We encourage parents to sit with their child to ensure they are familiar with the courses being offered. The Kearns High course catalog is also available online for students to view the descriptions, class fees and pre-requisites for each course.
As a reminder, Kearns High School has a no class change policy in place. With the careful planning and consideration students put into selecting their classes, there is also careful planning and consideration put into creating our master schedule to accommodate these requests. For this reason, there are no optional class changes allowed. If a student makes an audition only class or an athletic team, they can meet with their counselor to put these classes in their schedule.
To aid students in selecting classes, the counselors will be giving students a copy of their Progress Toward Graduation report during their English class. Each student is responsible to make sure they are meeting graduation requirements. The counselors will be in the English classrooms to help students fill out their course selection cards and answer any questions they may have. Dates are listed below.
Juniors (to be seniors) – January 30th & 31st
Sophomores (to be juniors) – February 6th & 7th
Freshmen (to be sophomores) – February 8th & 9th
8th Graders (to be freshmen) – February 14th & 15th @ Kearns Jr. and Jefferson
