On Tuesday, February 27th, Kearns High School will administer the ACT to all juniors and the Pre-ACT to all sophomores. The ACT Test is a USOE Requirement for all juniors in Utah. The Pre-ACT prepares sophomores to take the ACT in their junior year by providing data on the student’s academic strengths and challenges. Both the ACT and Pre-ACT provide students with information regarding possible career paths. All GSD High Schools are testing on this date.
The schedule for February 27th is as follows:
JUNIORS & SOPHOMORES- (Arrive by 7:25)
07:25 Report to your designated testing room (Room Assignments are posted in the Main Hall)
07:30 –12:15 Testing Process Begins
12:20-12:55 Lunch is available for all students
01:00-02:10 Report to a previously selected room for Intervention/Extension
Interventions-Activities/instruction provided in the core academics for students requiring additional assistance in mastering basic concepts.
Extensions-Activities/Instruction provided for those students who have mastered core objectives & desire additional applications for these objectives.
SENIORS & FRESHMEN- (Arrive by 12:20/Exceptions noted below)
07:30-Noon FREE CREDIT RECOVERY for seniors (See Counseling Center for details)
07:30-12:15 Freshmen who come to school early & seniors who come early & don’t take advantage of Free Credit Recovery, will be directed to the gym for organized/supervised activities.
12:20-12:55 Lunch is available for all students
01:00-02:10 Report to previously selected room for Intervention/Extension
All GSD High Schools will have a similar schedule for February 27th. Freshmen and seniors who have GTI/Jones Center classes on that day, will still attend those classes at their regular times. (Buses will be on a regular schedule.) Questions? Please call and ask for an administrator.
