Parents:
We have just completed eight daytime sessions and one evening session of registration assistance. Due to teachers returning and professional development obligations we will not be able to host anymore in-person sessions. Moving forward, here is what we will be doing to help you until school starts:
-Adult aides will be in the main hall from 8:00-1:00 pm to assist and direct you.
-New students to Kearns High and Granite School District will be directed to the Registrar’s office.
– Continuing students who did not complete the online registration process, including incoming 9th graders from Jefferson Jr. and Kearns Jr., will be given a paper registration packet to complete and return to the school during the hours listed above – only complete the forms you need.
-Due to restrictions and distancing we will no longer be able to accommodate lines in our building for registration. Students, you need to email your counselor if you are requesting a schedule change.
-If you have not returned your Chromebook from last spring we need it ASAP. The fine will remain on your account and the Chromebook will be locked down for usage until they are returned. We need to update them and get them ready to reissue. You will not be allowed to receive a Chromebook for the Fall until you have returned the one you already checked out.
-If you are applying for fee waiver make sure you have copies of the required documents listed on the application to assist me in making a decision. I will review those daily and deliver them to my bookkeepers the next morning to update your account if approved.
-We will not be taking any distance learning forms after August 19th at 1:00 pm. We will need to get the Chromebooks ready to hand out to the distance learners on the afternoon of August 21st. Please check our website and social media for the time of distribution. “Face to face” students will check out a Chromebook during the 4A class period during the first week of school.
-Admin will not be available due to required District trainings from August 13-21.
-School starts on August 24th, regular schedule, beginning at 7:30 am. Late Start Monday, by Board approval, have been moved to Distance Learning Fridays. Our building will not be open until 7:00 am in the morning. We will be meeting bused students at the north of the school.
-Students will no longer be allowed to park in the north parking lot due to busses and staff parking. We have had too many near hits with our busses and student drivers. Students can only park in the west lot. Parking this year is limited to Juniors and Seniors only. When school starts you can fill out the form and pick up your parking decal for $10 at the bookkeepers office.
-Parents, we need you to drop off your students in the WEST parking lot only for safety reasons. We have staff and busses parking in the north and things getting congested with other cars entering the parking lot. Please follow this request.
-If you are participating in “face to face” learning, per the Governor and CDC a mask is required to attend school. Parents, please help us enforce this rule with your children. If they are sick, please keep them home.
-Lastly, we will be working hard to keep students moving through the halls and discouraging loitering, please support us by reminding your students of the importance of these rules.
