Dear Parents and Students:
Thank you for a great first week! We are looking forward to continued weeks of learning and safety for all. Parents, thank you for your support as we all try our very best to navigate this pandemic while enforcing the wearing of masks and practicing social distancing as much as possible.
Congrats to all of our fall athletes and coaches for keeping yourselves safe and healthy so we can continue our competitions with visiting schools. Thank you to our coaches who are continually working to keep all safe and healthy.
As we begin week two I have a few reminders for all:
-Continue to properly wear your masks upon entry into our building and sanitize upon entry into your classes and our cafeteria. Masks must cover your mouth AND nose.
-Parents, if your students are sick please keep them at home for their safety and everyone else’s.
-Yearbook/Student ID pictures will be taken this week on Wednesday and Thursday, September 2nd and 3rd. Thanks to our English teachers for managing this process through their classes. Pictures will be taken in the auditorium where we will be practicing social distancing as much as possible. Distance Learners, please come to the school during your English class time. Enter the school through the west doors and walk to the north hallway to enter the auditorium through an open side door. Once you have completed taking your pictures, please exit the building.
-Seniors, as we are unable to share capes/drapes or graduation gowns for pictures this year, we are asking that you wear your “dance best clothing”. For boys, that would be a collared shirt and a tie with nice slacks. For girls, a dress or nice blouse with slacks. Please remember ALL clothing worn for pictures must be dress code appropriate.
-On Distance Learning Fridays we are providing meal services. Please enter through the east cafeteria doors between 10:30 – 11:30 to pick up your meal.
-Chromebooks are still available and should be picked up by in-person learners from their 4A teacher. Distance learners, and those with GTI, Seminary, or home release, can pick them up in the library. Please refer to this page on our website for login directions: https://schools.graniteschools.org/kearnshigh/resources/students/. Feel free to call or come into the library if you have continued issues with your Chromebook and/or login.
As always, please reach out to your teachers if you have class related questions and call the main office or counseling center for other specific questions.
Please stay safe and healthy!
Respectfully,
Principal Loo
