Dear Parents, Faculty and School Staff Members:
As many of you know, the Granite School District recently partnered with the Utah Health, Economic, and Recovery Outreach (HERO) Project to better understand COVID-19 infection rates in schools. The goal of this partnership is to provide access to school-based testing for students, faculty, and staff for early detection of SARS-CoV 2 in asymptomatic members of school communities, enhance the safety of school communities by reducing the frequency of transmission, and reduce the size of school-based outbreaks. The HERO Project hopes by taking part in this collaboration, everyone can work to facilitate greater opportunities for in-person learning during this time.
Granite School District is pleased to offer students, faculty, and school staff members COVID Testing through a non-invasive saliva collection on Friday, January 15th 2021, at Hunter High School, 4200 South 5600 West, West Valley City, UT 84120.
TESTING SESSION DETAILS – PLEASE READ
The testing will take place in the school. We ask that all participants arrive wearing a mask that covers both your nose and mouth. Participants will be asked to que up outside the entrance where they will answer a few screening questions before entering the testing area and sanitize their hands.
If a participant shows any symptoms or has had direct exposure to someone diagnosed with COVID-19 we will ask them to return to their vehicle and park in one of our reserved testing parking places. A HERO team member will come to their vehicle to administer the test.
For your health and safety, the HERO team will allow up to 10 participants at a time in the testing area. We ask that those not completing a test remain in the vehicle.
