The CTE & Career Center is open to all students and can be an abundant source of career information. The computers will be available for academic use before school, during lunch and after school. With the Granite Technical Institute, opportunities for career development are endless. See Ms. Fonua in the Career enter for details and more information. The Career Center looks forward to providing all of our students time in the Career Center to acquaint them with all of the many resources offered. All students will have opportunities to visit the Career Center and engage in career exploration and development activities. Seniors are encouraged to drop in often and use the “Utah Futures” program and other resources for researching colleges/post-secondary education, finding potential scholarships, writing essays and resumes, practicing for the ACT exam, and exploring all options. Information is provided for graduation credits, credit make-up classes, ACT, SAT, PSAT registration, scholarship information, and military opportunities.

The Department of Career and Technical Education in Granite School District has a well-earned reputation for providing high quality programs that are targeted at industries that have a high demand for the future. To further this focus Granite School District will be opening a new high tech facility, The Granite Technical Institute, that will focus on three major areas: Engineering Technology, Health Science Technology, and IT.
The mission of the Granite Technical Institute is to help students achieve and to move seamlessly to further training and employment. This will be accomplished by directly aligning critical academics with career and technical education courses promoting real world application to the academic theory of mathematics, science and English. In addition, articulation and collaboration with Salt Lake Community College and other post-secondary institutions will be enhanced making the transition into further education seamless for students. Clear pathways of training have been designed to support student growth from the 9th through the 12th grades.
