Open Enrollment

Come to PlymouthThe months of December, January and February have been legislated for parents to exercise their school-choice option. If you want your student(s) to attend Plymouth Elementary, you are required to complete a Granite School District “Application for Student to Attend School Out-of-School or District Boundaries” Form (Window Application) and submit it to the school of your choice between the time period beginning in December and ending in February. Forms are available in the Student Prevention and Placement office, or in the Plymouth Elementary office, from November 1 through the 3rd week in February. Click here for a form in Spanish.

Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis and will be stamped with the date and time received. Each application is individually screened and considered based on available space in the requested, grade, class, or program. The requested school has until the middle of March to notify the parent/family of acceptance. Parents will then be given until April 1st to confirm to the school their intention for their students(s) to attend.

If your student(s) are accepted on the Window Application, it is not required that you reapply the following school year – as long as space is available and the student(s) remain in this school. As in the past, when a student moves from elementary school to junior high, or from junior high to high school, there is no automatic feeder system.

Students on permits in the 6th and 9th grades, who wish to attend a school outside of their home school boundary, must apply again during the window period to request the preferred school. If you miss the window period and then apply for your student to attend a school out of your home boundary, you would be considered only on a “special need” basis; the “Special Need Permit” must be resubmitted each year. If your child is currently attending our school on this permit, and you wish for him/her to remain in our school, you should reapply during the Window Period.
