October 21, 2019Library Happenings We’re getting into a Halloween mood this week with Seen and Not Heard by Katie May Green. In a big old house called Shiverhawk Hall, there are beautiful paintings of children on the wall. But when darkness falls, could it be these children who climb out of their paintings and run amok until dawn? The author’s note at the back says, “I remember standing in front of a 16th-century portrait of three children, wondering what these stiffly clad, somber-looking little people were really like. Were they so very different from children today? Perhaps, with a little moonlight, a little magic…” A little Halloween magic for us at Upland this week!
