November 18, 2019Library Happenings This week we are reading a beautiful new book called The Scarecrow, by Beth Ferry, illustrated by the popular Fan Brothers. Scarecrow does his job very well, since all the animals are afraid of him. But he is lonely, until one day, a small, fragile crow drops from the sky and onto his arms. Scarecrow does something unexpected, something that will change his purpose forever. The soft illustrations capture all the emotions of the beautifully written, rhyming text. This is a story about loneliness, compassion and unlikely friendship. But it is also a wonderful book about the seasons and giving, perfect for this time of year.
