This week we are reading It Fell from the Sky by the Fan Brothers. This author/illustrator sibling duo puts out the most beautiful combination of artwork and story – we have their other books here in the library and they are likewise wonderful. Students love to check these out. In this newest story, a small bouncy ball falls from the sky into a garden. We get the perspective of the insects, who say this is the most amazing thing they’ve ever seen. All of them are in awe of it, but spider recognizes an opportunity when he sees it and organizes the insects into a building crew. They will build a grand exhibit to properly show off the Wonder from the Sky and the spider will personally benefit. But things don’t go exactly as planned, especially when you are only a tiny insect in a big garden. Spider learns that as easy as it is for a ball to fall from the sky, it’s just as easy for it to be plucked out of the garden!
