IT’S ALMOST SUMMER!
We are down to just a handful of days left in this school year. What a great time we’ve had in the library this year- discovering new series, learning about cool subjects and finding our favorite books! I’m looking forward to a little break, but I will miss coming into the library first thing and seeing everyone’s faces. It will be awesome to get back together in the Fall. No need to stop reading though! Kids can read all summer long with the Salt Lake County library system and their summer reading challenge, “All Together Now.” Everyone should have a brochure coming home with info about the program. Register online or go into your favorite neighborhood library to sign up. There’s also a Kick Off party the last day of school – Friday, June 2, 5-8 pm at Granite Library on 5th East and 33rd South. Throughout the summer, everyone in the family, including adults, can earn prizes by recording 5 types of activities: reading, connecting, playing, creating and learning. You can do up to 5/day. Once your record is full, take it to the library and get a free book, coupons, enter more prize drawings, and get a $5 fee waiver on your library card. It’s a great way to keep that summer slide in check AND earn fun prizes. I hope everyone has a wonderful summer and I’ll meet you back here in the Fall!
